Why output matters

More fog can increase visibility without forcing the old platform harder

The current CRF2 product material describes roughly 9 CFM—more than double the cautious UF2 archival range—while maintaining a similar water volume and nominal 50-minute operating cycle. That can improve localized visibility and camera capture.

However, the larger hose, output behavior and accessory interface mean the change should be evaluated against the actual hood, isolator, enclosure or room.

A 2.5-inch current hose may not fit legacy penetration or wand hardware.

Decision rule

Replace the UF2 with the smallest current platform that reliably satisfies the study

Choose the CRF2 when the target remains localized and the higher current output is sufficient. Move to CRF3 or CRF6 when the enclosure, airflow, distance or multi-outlet requirement exceeds the CRF2 category. Evaluate an AP-series LN₂ fogger when purity, density, long-distance visualization or large-area 3D airflow is the governing need.

Practical answers

Does the CRF2 use the same number of transducers as the UF2?

Both are described with nine ultrasonic elements, but transducer count alone does not establish identical output, control, chamber, electronics or fit.

Will a UF2 hose fit the CRF2?

Do not assume it will. Legacy UF2 material describes a 2-inch hose, while current CRF2 material describes a 2.5-inch hose.

Is CRF2 always the right replacement?

No. It is the closest current low-volume ultrasonic category. Larger or more demanding studies may require CRF3, CRF6 or an LN₂ platform.
